DirtRaptor started with a side hustle and a Stihl chainsaw. Twenty years later it is a full tree-and-excavation operation running its own Bobcat fleet across four counties.
The Story
From the docks to the dirt.
At 18, while working the docks in Seattle, Zach began climbing trees to earn extra income. His father's career as a longshoreman inspired him, but the unpredictable schedule pushed Zach to build his own steady work. With grit and determination he bought a Stihl chainsaw, climbing gear, and started building a reputation for dependable, high-quality tree work.
As demand grew, Zach invested in a small excavator to move large brush piles and finish jobs faster. That machine opened new opportunities — retaining walls, French drains, small shed foundations and stump pulls — so he expanded his capabilities and skill set. By 2018, after nearly two decades of hands-on experience and becoming a full A-Man longshoreman, Zach upgraded to a Bobcat E50 and began planning to turn the operation into a full-time business.
In 2019, Zach and his close friend Josh launched DirtRaptor LLC. The name blends Zach's love of dinosaurs — especially the Velociraptor — with his passion for earthmoving. Since then DirtRaptor has kept investing in equipment and efficiency, building an all-Bobcat fleet and the trucks to haul its own material.
Today DirtRaptor provides both expert tree services and full excavation solutions — including complete land clearing — across Snohomish, King, Skagit and Pierce counties. We combine decades of hands-on experience with purpose-built equipment to deliver safe, efficient and professional results on every job.
Why It Matters
Most excavators cannot drop your trees, and most tree services cannot dig your foundation. DirtRaptor does both — twenty years of arborist-led tree experience alongside a full excavation operation, run by the owner himself. That means one crew, one mobilisation, and one invoice instead of three separate contractors.
